Angus Tim Horton’s to the rescue

The Angus Tim Horton’s is giving back in a big way. Through the Smile Cookie program, the popular coffee shop raised over $10,776 this year. The Angus food bank received $3,445 that will directly go to those in need over the Christmas season.

Betty Hunt, president of the Angus Food Bank, was extremely grateful for the support.

“It’s great. We really appreciate what they’ve done for us and we have a great community here,” Hunt said. “I would like to thank Tim Horton’s for choosing us again this year. This cheque will go to good use.”

As for the remaining $7,331, the money will go to the Pine River Elementary School to fund their outdoor classroom and outdoor activity stations, allowing students to spend more time in the fresh air.

Through different programs such as the Smile Cookie initiative or other fund raisers, the Angus and Borden Tim Horton’s are always willing to step up. For Angus Tim Horton’s owners, Jenny Kovats and Chris Naylor, they wanted to give back to the community.

“This community never ceases to amaze me with their willingness to help others in the community,” said Naylor. “The Angus location and the Base Borden’s location are always ready to step up and help in anyway they can. It;s very rewarding for us to give back to the community that supports us.”
