The 2023 Matthews House Gala is happening here on CFB Borden!
On Friday, 20 October at the Waterloo Officer’s Mess Hall, Matthews House Hospice is hosting its 12th Annual Giving Hearts Gala with all funds raised to support residential and community hospice services.
Located in Alliston, Ont., just outside of CFB Borden, Matthews House offers support through an array of community, residential and health and wellness services; all of which are provided at no cost for individuals needing end of life care, nursing and personal support, support groups and social programs.
According to Waterloo Officer’s Mess Manager, April Herbert, the hospice has reached many military members over the years combatting their own health circumstances or those of a loved one.
To support Matthews House Hospice, this year’s gala is presented by Tribute Communities and will feature dinner, dancing accompanied by live music from The New Hollywood Band and silent and live auctions to follow.
At a rate of $200 per person or $1,600 for a table of eight, Matthews House’s Annual Gala has raised over $2.5 million dollars towards providing palliative care in South Simcoe and this year’s attendance is estimated to be nearly 300 people.
