Borden was one of four Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) hockey teams participating in the semi-finals for the Ontario Hockey Championships at Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Borden 2-5 February.

The players had to contend with tough but friendly competition, and a snowstorm on day two of the tournament. The storm brought one of the heaviest snowfalls the area has seen so far this winter, with poor visibility and road conditions resulting in non-essential services being shut down on the base. However, Personnel Support Programs (PSP) kept the Andy Anderson Arena open, determined to move forward with no interruption to game play for the sake of the travelling teams.

In the first round, the Trenton defeated Borden 3-1, and Kingston took the victory against Petawawa 5-3. Trenton then defeated Kingston in the final game with a score of 6-2 and will go on to represent Ontario at the 2023 National Hockey Championships. Congratulations Trenton!

CAF women’s hockey finals take place at CFB Trenton 20-25 March, 2023.
