The CAF concluded a week-long humanitarian mission after successful airlift delivery of COVID-19 supplies to countries in need.

From 23 – 31 July, members of Air Detachment-Panama spent approximately 40 hours in the air, distributing 82,500 kg of critical materials to Honduras, Trinidad and Tobago, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Guatemala and Barbados.

Under Operation GLOBE, these CAF members were able to actively engage abroad, working closely alongside personnel from other governments and organizations, including the World Health Organization, the World Food Programme and the United Nations.

“The global COVID-19 pandemic will only be overcome with coordinated action with our international partners,” commented the Honourable Karina Gould, Minister of International Development. “This operation is a great example of Canada’s steadfast commitment to leverage the breadth of Canada’s humanitarian assistance toolkit and work alongside our partners in meaningful ways to reach those who need it most.”
