As the school year comes to an end and we all look forward to summer vacation around the corner, it comes time to send out a friendly reminder of one funding opportunity for those attending post-secondary school after graduation!
Each year, the CFB Borden Base Fund Scholarship awards scholarships to dependent children of military members and of the Base Borden Defence Team. There are five scholarships valued at $1000 each and are based on academics, achievements, participation in school and extracurricular activities, and community involvement. There is also one “Tenacity” scholarship, valued at the same amount, awarded to one deserving student who has demonstrated outstanding ability to overcome obstacles to their achievement.
In 2021, there were 16 applications received. Five scholarships were awarded for academics or achievement, and one for tenacity.
