The Angus Legion played host to the Branch-level speech competition on 9 Feb, for local students vying for a spot at the Zone competition in March.
Local students bravely took the stage and delivered impressive speeches in a wide variety of topics.
Local Essa Township community council members, Sandie Macdonald, Mayor, Michael Smith, Deputy Mayor and Keith White, Councillor – Ward 1, took time out of their busy schedule to be present and support the students during the competition.
Both junior and intermediate students competed, and the competition was fierce as all students delivered top-notch topics.
