A Borden CAF member is showing the community what a force of nature CFB Borden can be when mobilised by organizing a donation drive in support of the Women and Children’s Shelter of Barrie.
Master Corporal (MCpl) Joseph Hardy is working with Canadian Forces Logistics and Training Centre (CFLTC) to gather up as many supplies as possible to help those who need to make use of the shelter and give the great folks who help them continued inspiration for their outstanding and sensitive work.
The following essential items are being collected:
- Full-sized toiletries: razors, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorants, toilet paper, tampons, baby wash, etc.)
- Food items: canned goods, dry food, school-safe snacks (no peanuts), Enfamil formula (Enfamil A+ Infant formula – ready to feed 0-12)
- Everyday items: new and single-sized bedding, pillows, paper towels, towels, small household appliances, cleaning supplies, art supplies, gift cards.
- New outerwear: mitts, gloves, hats, scarves & boots.
A donation box is set up at the back of the T-151 CFTLC Material Management Technician cadre, or MCpl Hardy can be contacted directly for pickups by email at Joe.Hardy@forces.gc.ca.
Donations will be collected until 15 December, when they will be delivered to the Women & Children’s shelter of Barrie.
