The Earth Hour campaign first began on 31 March 2007 in Sydney Australia with the question “How can people be inspired to take action on climate change? Since that day the Earth Hour campaign has grown into a global movement, inspiring millions of people around the world to join the fight on climate change.
In 2022 hundreds of millions of people in roughly 150 countries turned off their lights for one hour in support of the Earth Hour campaign. Here in Canada millions of Canadians in all the provinces and territories took part in this campaign, once again showing the rest of the world that there is nothing we can’t do when we are presented with a challenge. It is as simple as a flick of the switch. Do you accept the challenge?
