Essa Public Library Board is pleased to announce that Essa Public Library and New Tecumseth Public Library have signed a Reciprocal Borrowing Agreement, effective March 2020.
Residents who possess a valid library card in either municipality may also obtain a membership and borrow items from the neighbouring municipality. This will benefit residents who work/live/travel between the two areas, offering more comprehensive library services in the region.
Additionally, this efficiency will help to reduce some costs for Inter-Library loan because patrons may independently collect and return an item from another library system, thereby reducing the cost of staff time to prepare and mail items to our neighbours.
Reciprocal Borrowing Agreements with Clearview, Springwater, Innisfil, Borden Military library, and Georgian College, have benefited Essa residents for many years already.
Essa Public Library CEO, Laura Wark, commends the Essa Public Library Board for visioning a library system that strives to serve Essa Township to the best of its ability, and Essa Council for their support and interest in making Essa Township a great place to live and work.
