On 19 October, Base Borden Commander Col Jonathan Michaud accepted a cheque from CFMWS in the amount of $215,364 towards the Base Fund.
Representatives from SISIP Financial, CANEX, and PSP, which all fall under the CFMWS umbrella, were excited to partake in the annual cheque presentation.
“This is one of the biggest, most exciting days of my year,” said Tracy Broeze, SISIP Area Manager. “We help people one-to-one, but when we get to do this cheque it’s a culmination of our hard work through the year. We don’t pay back the shareholders, we pay back to the CAF community.”
In front of the Borden Command Team, Col Michaud thanked SISIP, CANEX and PSP for the support they provide to military members, their families, public servants, and the community.
“The Base Borden community and what we do is only achievable through a network of colleagues and teams, of which CFMWS is an integral part,” he said.
In the past six years, more than $140 million has been distributed across the CAF in support of moral and welfare services.
