Passing of Change of Command Certificates, Blackdown CTC Change of Command Ceremony, July 6, 2018. / Remise des attestations de passation de commandement, lors de la cérémonie de passation de commandement du CEC Blackdown, le 6 juillet 2018.
On July 6, 2018, a Change of Command Ceremony was held to transfer command of Blackdown Cadet Training Centre from Lieutenant-Colonel (LCol) Jack Kelly to LCol Allain Boileau, from Moncton, New Brunswick. LCol Kelly had been the Commanding Officer of the training centre for five years. During that time, he was instrumental in ensuring that all the cadets challenged themselves while having a fun experience at Blackdown. In his address to those on parade, LCol Kelly spoke about how the training centre does not work in a vacuum and attributed his success as Commanding Officer (CO) to the staff that worked with him during his time at Blackdown.
The reviewing officer, LCol Dore, Commanding Officer, Regional Cadet Support Unit (Central), thanked the outgoing CO for the great job he did over the years. In speaking to LCol Boileau during his address, he relayed his unwavering confidence in him as the new CO and in has ability to lead the largest training centre in Canada.
The new Commanding Officer, LCol Boileau, has been actively involved in the cadet program for the last 30 years in Atlantic Canada, most recently as Commanding Officer of Argonaut CTC(Cadet Training Centre) at CFB Gagetown. During the parade, LCol Boileau spoke about his humbling experience as commander of the training centre. Together with over 250 members of the adult staff, the new Commanding Officer is looking forward to continuing to build on the legacy LCol Kelly provided, while bringing new energy and enthusiasm to the training centre.
Le 6 Juillet, 2018, le CEC Blackdown a organisé une cérémonie pour transférer commandement du centre d’entraînement des cadets Blackdown du Lieutenant-Colonel Jack Kelly au Lieutenant-Colonel Allain Boileau, de Moncton, New Brunswick. Lcol Kelly était le Commandant du centre d’entraînement pour cinq années. Pendant son temps, il était instrumental en assurant que tous les cadets se sont mis au défi pendant qu’ils ont eu une bonne expérience à Blackdown. Dans son adresse à ceux dans la parade, LCol Kelly a dit que le centre d’entraînement en fonctionne pas dans le vide, et il attribue son succès comme Cmdt au personnel qu’il a travaillé avec pendant son temps à Blackdown.
L’Officier de Revue, LCol Dore, Commandant, Unité régionale de soutien aux cadets (centrale), a remercié le commandant sortant pour le travail remarquable qu’il a fait durant ses années. S’adressant au LCol Boileau, il a relayé sa confiance inflexible dans son capacité d’être Commandant du centre d’entraînement des cadets le plus grand au Canada.
Le Commandant nouveau, LCol Boileau, était actif dans le programme des cadets pour les dernières 30 années dans le Canada Atlantique, plus récemment comme Commandant du CEC Argonaut à BFC Gagetown. Dans ses remarques durant la parade, LCol Boileau a parlé de comment rempli d’humilité il est devenu à cause de son expérience d’être Commandant du centre d’entraînement. Ensemble avec plus que 250 membres du personnel adulte, le Commandant nouveau est enthousiaste à continuer de bâtir l’héritage que le LCol Kelly a fourni, et d’apporter de l’énergie nouvelle et d’enthousiasme au centre d’entraînement.
