As we approach the holiday season and the conclusion to the calendar year, Chief Petty Officer 1st Class Wilcox and I want to express our gratitude to everyone for their hard work throughout the year at CFB Borden and across the Military Personnel Generation Training Group. The dedication exhibited by members of our Defence Team in supporting CAF members within their respective trades and disciplines continues to impress us.
Despite the challenges faced this year, the approach to the workplace environment has been met with expertise and sound work ethic, both here in Borden and across the formation. The ongoing contributions from all our members, whether it be through the constant display of professionalism in the work being done, or through our outreach to surrounding communities, energizes us. We, as an organization, are focused on reconstitution within the Defence Team, and taking the time to recognize all the positive work that we have done is vital. Yes, there have been (and will continue to be) challenges – but take the time to celebrate the successes you have achieved as well.
As we enter this festive season, we want to acknowledge that while this time of year brings joy and happiness for many, it can also be a time of loneliness and isolation for some. If you find yourself feeling isolated, please don’t hesitate to seek help from available resources, such as the Chaplaincy and your Chain of Command. Your well-being is important. If you know someone who will be alone during the holidays, reach out to them, check-in, and ensure they are doing okay.
Seize this opportunity to recharge, reconnect with friends and loved ones, and celebrate what you have accomplished this year.
