The holiday baking season has begun! But for those not quite ready to create themselves, the Personnel Support Services branch (PSS) had them covered with a bake sale which doubled as a fundraiser for the National Defence Workplace Charitable Campaign (NDWCC).
On 7 December, organizers set up a table filled with homemade holiday goodies in the Administration building at CFB Borden from 1130-1300 hrs. The wide variety of tasty treats were donated by members of the unit, with proceeds to the NDWCC supporting the United Way. Throughout the day, members popped by in a steady flow to pick something up for themselves or their coworkers and support a great cause.
Thanks to the creativity of those who donated delicious baked goods for the sale, and to everyone who purchased items for themselves or others, the bake sale nearly sold out.
NDWCC is an ongoing campaign through the year, with various unit-led initiatives like this contributing to the fundraising efforts of CFB Borden to give back to the community.
