Social wellness involves building healthy, nurturing, and supportive relationships as well as fostering a genuine connection with those around you.
From the time you’re born, your relationships help you learn to navigate the world. You learn how to interact with others, express yourself, conduct everyday health habits, and be a part of different communities from those around you. Positive social habits can help you build support systems and stay healthier mentally and physically.
Health and Physical Fitness Day embraces activities geared towards improving your social wellness. Physical activities and competitions may include working as a team or going solo. The social aspects of competitive sports result with cheers from supporters which heightens motivation and fosters a sense of belonging.
On the calmer side, discovering a new hobby such as painting, joining a non-competitive dance class or finally learning how to swim can help you create new social connections, reduce feelings of loneliness, and build self-confidence.
Join your local PSP on 27 May and boost your social wellness!
Health and Physical Fitness Day is an annual event that has been hosted by your local CFB Borden PSP team for several years now. On this day, your local PSP team has typically provided a variety of activities to promote the different ways that one can use to maintain and even improve one’s health and wellbeing.
Health is a state of physical, mental, and social wellbeing. What this means is that overall health requires a balance of all three categories. Therefore, we need to focus our efforts to maintain or improve our wellbeing in all three categories.
