Canvas painting activity during Health and Physical Fitness Day 2022.
After two years of virtual programming, Health and Physical Fitness Day returned to an in-person format for 2022.
Made possible thanks to the efforts of PSP staff and presenting sponsor, Marchant’s, programming included a mix of activities promoting both physical and mental wellness.
“We all know there is a clear link between physical fitness and mental wellness,” said Acting Base Commander, LCol David Fearon during the opening ceremonies. “And days like these go a long way in reinforcing that.”
In addition to the popular Fittest Soldier and Fittest Unit competitions, activities also included swimming, rock climbing, dance, yoga, and canvas painting.
All winners received prizes thanks to generous presenting sponsor, Marchant’s, including Under Armour apparel, wireless earbuds, wireless waterproof speakers, Sahara Quencher water bottles, and four Stormtech gift certificates of $125. Marchant’s President Darryl Marchant and his wife Nancy attended to be part of the fun, observing the Fittest Unit event as well as the closing ceremonies.
PSP would like to thank Farm Boy and Loblaws, Bayfield St for food donations, and Spike Ball for donated games.
Congratulations to this year’s winners!
