In celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD) CFB Borden, with support of IWD sponsors, will host an event on 6 March, from 0900 – 1300 hrs. The event will take place at the CFB Borden Officers’ Mess, and will consist of speakers and a variety of vendors.
The event will feature four keynote speakers, including Katie Weatherston, a Women’s Hockey Olympic Gold medalist, along with Kimberley Greenwood, Barrie Chief of Police, Kristin Taylor, Deputy Managing Partner-Cassels Brock and Rose DiMarco, Deputy Commissioner Provincial Commander of Traffic Safety and Operational Support for the OPP, all of who will be sharing their inspirational stories.
The International Women’s Day event is open to the DND community and general public – all are welcome, and encouraged to come out and take part in this important, engaging event.
There will also be a silent auction, bake sale and BBQ lunch, all in an effort to raise funds for both the GCWCC United Way campaign and the MP Blind Fund.

Afin de marquer la Journée internationale des femmes (JIF), la BFC Borden, avec l’appui des parrains de la JIF, tiendra une activité le 6 mars, de 9 h à 13 h. L’activité aura lieu au mess des officiers de la BFC et comprendra des conférences et la présence de divers fournisseurs.
L’activité mettra en vedette quatre conférencières : Katie Weatherston, médaillée d’or de hockey féminin aux Jeux Olympiques; Kimberley Greenwood, chef de police de Barrie; Kristin Taylor, associée directrice adjointe chez Cassels Brock; Rose DiMarco, commissaire adjointe de la Police provinciale de l’Ontario et commandant provincial, Sécurité de la circulation et soutien opérationnel. Elles nous feront chacune part de leur vécu inspirant.
L’activité de la JIF est ouverte au grand public, ainsi qu’à la communauté de la BFC Borden. Tous sont les bienvenus et invités à participer à cette activité importante et stimulante.
Il y aura un encan silencieux, une vente de pâtisseries et un barbecue dans le but de recueillir des fonds pour la Campagne de charité en milieu de travail du gouvernement du Canada en faveur de Centraide et le Fonds de la police militaire pour les enfants aveugles.
