Local veterans raise funds to help their own

After its inaugural show in 2019, the annual New Lowell Legion Veterans Show and Shine had to take a two-year hiatus as with many other events. Finally, with a green light to proceed, two retired Warrant Officers are excited to get things back on track. As veterans themselves, Jeff Hopping and Dean Rodd, are eager to get back to helping other veterans.

With the support of their veteran groups, the Just Every Riders Known Soldiers (J.E.R.K.S) and the Canadian Veterans Corps (CVC), Jeff and Dean hope to make a positive impact in the lives of other veterans. All proceeds from the event will be going towards service dogs, homeless vets and the Gallant Knights.

The Veterans Show and Shine is open to everyone and will take place on 13 August 2022 at the New Lowell Legion. Bike registration is from 1100 – 1300 hrs with the event starting at 1200 hrs and will continue until 1500 hrs. Cost is $20 per bike which includes pig roast. Non-bike entrants can purchase tickets for the pig roast. There will be plenty of simultaneous events with a burn pad, silent auction, shopping with vendors and much more.

For more information look for the event page on Facebook at Veterans Show and Shine.

If interested in being a vendor (no table fees!), making a donation or offering a silent auction item, contact Jeff at jeff_hopping@hotmail.com or Dean at dean12031@hotmail.com.
