PSS members and staff recognized for outstanding achievements

Jason Burke (centre), Reconditioning and Supplementary Physical Training Specialist with PSP, received the Base Commander Commendation for his exceptional contribution to enhancing and improving health and physical fitness of Canadian Forces personnel.

On the morning of Thursday, 25 May the Personnel Support Services (PSS) branch held an intimate awards ceremony to recognize the outstanding achievements of four individuals.

Base Commander, Colonel Jonathan Michaud, started the presentations by recognizing the importance of PSS as a whole, including military members, PSP and CFMWS staff who support 36 lodgers and thousands of students and staff across CFB Borden.

“This team does incredible work every day, and it’s often in the shadows,” said Col Michaud. “Absolutely nothing happens on this base without the involvement of PSS.”

Col Michaud went on to thank everybody from PSS, including their families, for their continued efforts and support.

“It’s incredible the amount of effort that goes into making this base one of the best places to come and live, learn and work.”

Master Corporal Marie-Eve Plante received the Base Commander Commendation for her outstanding leadership and professionalism managing the BTL, IR and Deployment sections, and continuously demonstrating exceptional and unwavering commitment to the needs of the organization.

Petty Officer 1st Class Eric Nicol received the Base Commander Commendation for exemplary leadership and dedication in managing the requirements of their personnel and ensuring operational success.

Master Warrant Officer Chiu Tsang received the Base Commander Commendation for going beyond their regular duties and consistently demonstrating acts of selflessness and dedication for the wellbeing and morale of the troops. MWO Tsang was recognized for his exceptional character, leadership, and commitment to the welfare of others, and the inspiration for others to follow this example.
