24/7 personal sized pizzas, served hot from an automated oven are a hit

An automatic pizza vending machine has officially arrived outside the Hub on Base Borden, delivering pies into the hands of hungry customers in just three minutes.

Open 24/7, the outdoor kiosk was delivered by PizzaForno suppliers on Friday, 23 June at 1700 hrs, selling out just one hour after installation. After being restocked on Saturday, it took only six hours for the machine to sell out a second time before it was restocked on Monday morning.

“There was no doubt in my mind that the young troops would sell this [the pizza oven] out,” said Base Commander Colonel Jonathan Michaud, after visiting the kiosk Monday afternoon.

PizzaForno pizza ovens are stocked with a variety of menu options including Pepperoni, BBQ Chicken, Four Cheese Blend, Hawaiian, Meat Lovers and Vegetarian.

“These look really good!” he said, after ordering two barbeque chicken pizzas served within minutes after purchase.
