Volunteer with BFRC: Board of Directors positions open

Are you a civilian spouse/partner of a Military Member posted to Borden?  Would you like to make a difference in the lives of military members and their families?  If you answered yes to these questions, then the Centre would like to invite you to become part of a dynamic and influential team.  Becoming an elected member of the Borden Family Resource Centre’s Board of Directors provides you with a unique opportunity to serve your CAF community and make a difference in the lives of local military families!

The Centre is currently seeking volunteers to sit on the Board of Directors to play a significant role in overseeing Centre operations accountable to funders and stakeholders. Members of the Board of Directors act as ambassadors/advocates within the military community and hold a high degree of decision-making authority as well as legal authority for the Centre.

The ideal candidate demonstrates the following:

  • Spouse/partner or family member (at least 18 years of age) of currently serving CAF members posted to CFB Borden;
  • Specific interest and/or experience in the following areas: Governance, Financial &/or Human Resource management, Planning, Community Relations;
  • Prior governance experience or involvement in the not-for-profit sector an asset;
  • Commitment to the goals and objectives of the Military Family Services Program.

If you are an interested and passionate volunteer who seeks new challenge; want to contribute in a meaningful way to the community; want to work collaboratively with a great team and are able to commit to a two (2) year term of a minimum of one (1) Board meeting per month, the Board of Directors would be thrilled to meet you and to have you on the team.
