This year’s National Volunteer Week is held from 24-30 April. The theme for 2022, Volunteering is Empathy in Action, affirms the strong connection between volunteerism and empathy. This profoundly human connection is at the heart of healthier individuals and stronger communities.
As stated on the Volunteer Canada website, volunteering can help us develop empathy, to see the world through the eyes of others. It can connect people from diverse backgrounds and life experiences, expanding our views. It can build our capacity to work collectively and contribute to a vibrant, inclusive society.
The Borden Family Resource Centre is grateful for the hard work, commitment and support of dedicated Centre volunteers and would like to take this time to say “thank you to each one of you!”
Let’s build a community where people feel happier, healthier and more welcome – Volunteering, putting empathy into action!
This week, please take the time to thank people who say they volunteer – either at the BFRC or for any other organization.
